Nassourdine Imavov wants to avenge his loss to the current UFC middle weight champion Sean Strickland. This fight means more than just avenging his loss in a catch weight short notice fight back in January of 2023.
Imavov is fighting on behalf of France which he calls home, in defense of his religion which was mocked and ridiculed by the current middle weight champion, and in honor of his native countrymen. Oddly enough he is on a mission to finish a job the number one ranked UFC middle weight fighter Khamza Chimaev was unable to do.
For Imavov a chance to fight for the middle weight crown is more than just a crack at the championship belt. It is personal. Sean Strickland has a long history of being unfiltered in his speech. He does not shy away from expressing his views and opinions. Many fans find his rhetoric to be entertaining no matter how crazy and ‘over the top’ they may be.
However, there is an mma fanbase who find his barrage of insults to be distasteful and ignorant.
The mma fanbase come from all walks of life. You have the hardcore fans that have been fans since the Gracie era, and you have casuals who think Conor McGregor beats Brock Lesnar in his prime. It isn’t just a fanbase that would love to see Sean Strickland eat his words, there is a whole region in Russia and plenty of Muslim mma fighters who would like to take part.
Nassourdine Imavov is one of those fighters who has been on a mission to get the next title shot against Sean Strickland. He is currently on a five-fight win streak and ranked third after the inactive former champion Dricus Du Plessis.
If anyone wants it more than anything it is The Sniper Nassourdine Imavov.
