Is Khamzat Chimaev Set to Sail the Same Boat as Arman Tsarukyan?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Khamzat Chimaev isn’t wasting any time staying active after losing his UFC title.

Just days after dropping the UFC middleweight belt to Sean Strickland in a razor-close split decision at UFC 328, Chimaev already booked his next match-up, though this one was in a singlet and on the wrestling mat.

Similar to his close friend and training partner Arman Tsarukyan, Khamzat is staying active by competing in wrestling. The sport that molded him to the fighter he is today.

The former UFC middleweight champ Khamzat Chimaev made his promotional debut in the main event of RAF 10, where he took on Dillon Danis in a catchweight grappling match.

RAF first signed Chimaev back in April during RAF 8, but the promotion had to wait until his title fight with Strickland played out before officially locking in his debut.

Now that the UFC chapter is temporarily on pause while Chimaev pushes for a rematch, he stepped into a completely different kind of spotlight.

His opponent? Dillon Danis.

Danis widely known through his connection with Conor McGregor as a longtime training partner. Although a great jiu-jitsu competitor in the colored belts, his accolades in the black belt division did not reach elite status.

Danis recently competed at RAF 7, where he faced Colby Covington and lost by technical fall.

Now he faces Chimaev.

The match had everything you’d expect from these two competitors and similar to Arman’s history with RAF, there was an all out brawl during the match as well.

Chimaev claimed Danis was attempting submissions and that flipped a switch in Chimaev as he rained down kicks before he was restrained and both teams brawled in the middle of the mat.

Arman headlined RAF 10 with a match against the former UFC interim-lightweight champion Tony Ferguson which ended in Tsarukyan winning the match without any punches thrown. Like all mma fans, we hope to see both fighters back in the UFC fighting for the championship belt as soon as possible.

RAF put on exciting match ups in the word of wrestling but I think we can all agree we would much rather see them in the octogon doing what they do best. Fight.
